NUTRITION: FOOD THERAPY FOR THE HEART & CIRCULATION

EVERY YEAR, NEARLY ONE MILLION AMERICANS DIE FROM HEART DISEASE

Some Startling Statistics!!!

  • One in five individuals has some form of cardiovascular disease
  • Cardiovascular disease is the number one cause of death in the United states and has been every year since 1919
  • One of every 2.5 deaths in 1998 was due to cardiovascular disease.

AND MORE THAN HALF WERE WOMEN !!!

Did you know that women have a 50% chance of dying from heart disease or stroke?

The risk of a woman dying from cardiovascular disease is nearly twice that of all forms of cancer combined. But, you can do something about it.
Out-patient adults diagnosed with heart disease: 23 million (2001)

The medical establishment perceives the heart as a separate organ that requires specialization. But what is forgotten is that all the organs in the body are related to each other. The heart pumps the blood to support the circulatory system. In turn, the blood supports the other organs and itself. The other organs support the heart. All parts of the body are interdependent. The liver filters (one of many functions) the blood from toxins, which aids all the other organs.

ANOTHER EXPLANATION FROM TRADITIONAL CHINESE MEDICINE

Chinese Medicine has had an answer for more than 1000 years!

According to Traditional Chinese herbs & medicine, the heart, like all organs of the human body, requires blood and energy to maintain itself. Arteries, capillaries and veins support the feeding and cleansing of the heart. When any of these vessels are blocked, then the heart becomes interrupted in its functioning. This can become serious resulting in many HEART & CIRCULATION problems. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) focuses on opening up the targeted channels revitalizing and harmonizing the heart’s function and obstructed circulatory channels.

The liver, spleen, and every circulatory system organ can be involved in an obstructive process that impedes natural blood flow. This results in the body lowering in energy or Qi (Chinese medicine), high blood pressure, with every body function suffering from poor nutrition and de-oxygenation. No amount of vitamins or minerals can overcome the level of toxicity that develops except through gradual elimination of toxins in the blood. If detoxification happens too quickly, then a crisis can occur where nausea, exhaustion, and further setbacks in the cleansing process. If elimination is allowed to proceed on a gradual improving pace then expulsion is optimized. This requires working with the body as opposed to making physiology conform to a standardized strategy.

If the blood remains toxic for too long then an acidic environment is created. The result is a breakdown of vascular walls. This involves a scarring effect with blood components filling in the damged areas. This build-up complicates the process of cleansing. If the circulatory plumbing is not cleared out then all organs suffer speeding up the aging process. Its important at this stage that balance is re-established before established damage occurs.

Summary: Excess constitution with heat and dampness characteristics stemming from over-ingestion of rich, greasy, spicy, refined, intoxicating foods. Foods: excess red meat, eggs, cheese, fried foods, salt, excess sweet, refined & stale flour and oil products, chemicals, drugs and acoholic drinks.

When the body becomes overwhelmed by the above foods then the blood, organs and body becomes toxic and malfuctioning. The excess wears the body down into deficiency resulting in conditions of arthritis, tumor, diabetes, etc. The blockages in vasularity produces heat and pressure resulting in the following conditions – high blood pressure, constipation, excess weight, stroke and circulation ailments. The remedy is purging and cleansing.with bitter herbs and foods. Bitter cools and reduces dampness in the body. There may be exceptions which require a seasoned Master herbalist’s (Traditional Chinese herbs & medicine) input.

Vitamin D Overdose And Its Effects

It is incredibly important that you take the time to get your vitamins. These items are what keep your body in the best possible shape. One of the most important vitamins a person can consume is vitamin D. This vitamin is what keeps the body’s digestion in working order and what helps keep the bones as strong and study as possible. One thing you should remember is that too much of it can really result in a vitamin D overdose and hence you should take it in right dose. Overzealous or nervous individuals may think that their vitamin D supplements are doing good things, but they can be incredibly harmful if a person takes too many of them too often. The following are just some of the reasons to monitor your vitamin D intake do that you don’t have to deal with the nasty side effects of a vitamin D overdose.

Calcification Is The Most Common Effects Of Vitamin D Overdose

One of the most common effects of a vitamin D overdose is calcification. When this happens, calcium deposits form on the soft tissue. With time and with enough vitamin D, the deposits harden and can be quite painful. This is because the body can not absorb or handle all of the vitamins you are ingesting. Thus, the excess results in calcification. This vitamin D overdose symptom can occur pretty much anywhere in the body. For example, the deposits could pop up in the breast tissue and could mimic the look and feel of a tumor.

Urinary Stones Can Be Caused Due To Vitamin D Overdose

Because the body can not handle excess vitamin D, an overdose can result in something called urinary stones. These stones are actually hard and sometimes fairly large mineral masses that literally get stuck in the urinary tract. Generally, these masses migrate to areas as the bladder after orignating in the kidneys. Urinary stones are nothing to laugh at: they can be incredibly painful. In fact, if you have a serious enough case of them, you may even have to have surgery to have them removed.

Nerve and Muscle Effects Are Also Causes Of Vitamin D Overdose

If you have a vitamin D overdose, you may experience some nerve symptoms. For example, you may have some pain, numbness, and temperature sensitivity as a result of the vitamin D overdose. Some folks even experience reflex issues as the result of this condition. The muscles could also be affected: common effects include tingling, stiffness, and even the loss of muscle control. If these things happen, you should speak to a doctor as soon as possible. You don’t want the muscles and nerves of the body to become irreparably damaged!

Warning: Botox Side Effects

In a medical context, side effects are harmful or undesired outcomes, resulting from a medication or treatment, in addition to the desired therapeutic effect. Any medication on the market has side effects, but not all who are under that particular medication will experience them. As with all other medications, Botox, commonly used to reduce wrinkles and facial lines, carries side effects.

Botox side effects were identified in extensive and thorough clinical studies and trials conducted by qualified medical research teams. In these trials and studies, the effects produced by Botox in a group of individuals were analyzed and weighed against data gathered from control groups. The results of these analyses established exactly what adverse effects could be brought about by undergoing Botox treatments.

Studies conducted on the use of Botox for cosmetic treatments such as in the reduction of facial lines and wrinkles have established that Botox could cause high blood pressure, dental problems, droopy eyelids, nausea, indigestion, heartburn, muscle weakness and facial pain. These Botox side effects were experienced singly or in combinations by about 1 to 3 percent of those undergoing Botox treatments.

On the use of Botox for treating medical conditions such as cervical dystonia, crossed eyes (strabismus), eyelid spasms (blepharospasm) and excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), studies show that the following common Botox side effects were experienced by about 11 to 21 percent of patients: headache, droopy eyelids, neck pain, difficulty in swallowing, upper respiratory infections and vertical deviations (misalignment) of the eyes.

Other common Botox side effects that have been observed are anxiety, cough and runny or stuffy nose, dry mouth, sore throat, bleeding and/or soreness at the injection site, infection, weakness, drowsiness, dizziness, back pain, and flu-like symptoms such as fever and chills. About 2 to 10 percent of people undergoing Botox therapy for any purpose manifest these Botox side effects.

If you experience chest pain, double vision, speech problems, dry eyes (if being treated for muscle spasms near the eyes), and allergic reactions (such as difficulty in breathing or swallowing, unexplained rashes, itching, hives, unexplained swelling, and wheezing) while undergoing Botox treatments, these should be reported to your doctor at once. This is because such Botox side effects are potentially serious.

While undergoing Botox treatments, there will be times when you have symptoms for which the exact cause can be difficult to tell. These symptoms may or may not be Botox side effects. The best thing to do if you feel or see anything unusual is to consult your physician. Not only will your physician determine the cause, he will treat the condition as well.

Botox treatments certainly offer a lot of benefits to its users. But along with those benefits are disadvantages. It is important that you be able to recognize Botox side effects and know what course of action to follow if you suffer from them.

Jane Villardo has been offering advice about Botox for many years and maintains a website all about Botox. Botoxinjection-facts.com also offers information on anti wrinkle creams, plus offers anti wrinkle cream reviews

Comparing Anti Aging Products

Those free radicals cause skin damage our skin becomes dull and wrinkles appear. There are many people that just use a moisturizer during the day and at night they don’t use anything. But you should also apply an anti aging cream that contains potent anti oxidants, increases collagen and heals the skin.

Everyone always wants to look their best. In order to build more confidence within them as they grow older, they are willing to try absolutely anything so as to keep their skin looking young and vibrant. Aging is considered the worst kind of stigma these days. With so many advertisements for anti aging products, TV shows, videos, photos and whatsoever of young people, youth has become a substantial part of modern lifestyle. The first thing that you need to look for is their credibility.

More and more women these days are undergoing treatment with various anti-aging products such as micro-dermal abrasion, chemical peels, retinoid and anti-oxidants for a glowing skin and general well being. CE Ferulic acid serum boosts the skin protection against UV rays. Another very widely used anti-aging product consists of botox which is basically a purified form of Botolinuna toxin.

Phytonutrients, or plant and fruit extracts are the latest in anti aging technology and have known to be beneficial for the skin and its underlying cells. Therefore, in order to strike the balance between antioxidants and free radicals, fruit extracts are used as external lotions to supply antioxidants to the skin. Other phytochemicals such as caretenoids have been found to be effective in rejuvenating the collagen fibers as well.

A new market has been borne, one of anti ageing products and advice. They then want to emulate these famous people by finding ways in which they too can delay this ageing process.

Resveratrol Side Effects

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE HI MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

Resveratrol side effects are too rare to talk about. There are people who have taken it any form cannot believe if Resveratrol can have some side effects. However as Resveratrol diet contains a few other ingredients also therefore it can easily have some side effects on people who are allergic or are on some other kind of medication.

Often Resveratrol side effects are noticed only in cases when one consumes it in large quantities. Excess of anything is harmful. The same goes for Resveratrol as well. Even if there is no medications but you feel uncomfortable after taking Resveratrol you must seek expert medical advice. Pregnant women must consult the physician before starting Resveratrol diet.

TRADITIONAL CHINESE HERBS

“There are three categories of drugs; the lowest one of which is poisonous, the second one is a little poisonous, the highest one is no poison. The lowest drug cures 6 out of 10 sicknesses, leaving poisons in the patients. The middle one cures 7 out of 10 sicknesses, leaving a small amount of poison. Even the highest medicine cure only 8 or 9 out of 10 sicknesses. The sicknesses that medicine cannot cure can be cured only by foods.” Nei Ching

The second tier of Asian medicine, after Food Therapy, is traditional chinese herbs – therapy chosen because of its relevant affective strength on the human body. Herbal therapy is applied to open the channels with specific influence on the underlying cause of imbalance and related symptoms. Comprehensive knowledge of herbal medicine is necessary or harm may be done. Herbal medicines have the same strength as food except that it does impacts the body directly. When reduced to an extract level which equals about 4-5 times the strength of the basic herbs, the effect is quicker and stronger. Natural herbs do not heal any better than synthetic medicines but they can help the body to fight disease, strengthen the body’s immune system, and help to harmonize the body’s functions. After a master herbalist learns about individual herbs then a herbalist will proceed to herbal formulas which make a greater impact to energize, reduce or harmonize more body parts in the restorative process. Traditional Chinese herbs deserve respect because harm can occur if not applied correctly. Though not as dangerous as synthetic medicines, imbalances can occur if rendered inappropriately. On the positive side, they can achieve freedom from imbalances and pain, quickly, while rooting health.

THE 4 NATURES, 5 TASTES, 4 ACTIONS & THE MERIDIAN ATTRIBUTION

These characteristics are found in food and herbs and influence the body’s reception of the herb’s medicinal qualities.

FOUR NATURES OF HERBS

The four natures of herbs are:

·         Hot

·         Cold

·         Warm

·         Cool

The “Nei Jing”, an ancient book of Chinese herb wisdom, says, “if the body is cold, heat it; if the body is hot, cool it”. The herbs that are used to treat hot type dysfunction are typically cold or cool. Herbs that are used to treat cold type conditions are generally warm or hot in nature. There are some herbs with a more subtle nature. They are categorized as neutral in impact on the body. Essentially every neutral herb may be deemed slightly warm or cool, so we can refer to the basic four natures.

The FIVE TASTES OF HERBS

·         Spicy

·         Sour

·         Sweet

·         Bitter

·         Salty

Herb tastes affect different body functions. Every herb has its unique nature and taste. Herbs with the same nature may have the same taste. Or herbs with their similar tastes may have different natures. Therefore, the study of tastes and natures can be very complicated.

The Nei Jing says:

“spicy and sweet tastes move fast so they, characteristically, belong to yang constitution types.
Sour and bitter tastes move body functions downwards so they reflect the yin body types.
Salty taste moves energy downward too, so it also is yin in quality.
Bland (a subtle sweet taste) permeates so it belongs to yang.
Additionally spicy, sweet, and bland attributes are distinctively yang.
Sour, bitter, and salty attributes are yin in their affect on the human body.”

The FOUR ACTIONS OF HERBS

The four actions of herbs are:

Ascending

Descending

Floating

Sinking

These four actions are directly related to the human body. The great Herbalist Li Dong-Yuan said, “herbs have the properties of ascending, descending, floating and sinking, transformation, giving birth, growth, harvesting, storing, and completion”. It so happens, these same actions match up with the four seasons – spring/ascends, summer/floats, autumn/harvests, winter/stores, central earth/transforms.

Herbs, whose taste are weak, will ascend and rise (give birth).
Herbs, whose natures are weak, will descend and restrain (harvest).
Herbs, whose natures are strong, will float and grow.
Herbs, whose taste are strong, will sink and store.
Herbs, whose nature are neutral and tastes are bland, will transform and complete.
Yang ascends, Yin descends, Yang floats, and Yin sinks. Spicy, sweet, and bland have the yang characteristics of the earth. Sour, bitter and salty have yin traits. Yin and Yang descriptions aid the TAM practitioner relative to understanding the affect a herb will have on the body.

YANG characteristics are related to:

                                           High Energy

Light

Upper

Dry

External

Hot

Excess

Yin attributes will be associated with:

                                           Low energy

Darkness

Lower

Wet

Internal

Cold

Deficient

Additionlly, herbs that are light will usually ascend or float and herbs that are heavy will usually sink or descend. Flowers and leaves will float while seeds or roots will descend or sink. Keep in mind that Chinese Herb Medicine also includes the mineral and animal products, which have their own properties.

The MERIDIAN ATTRIBUTION OF HERBS

There are 12 channels in the human body. These clearly defined channels are influenced by historically beneficial herbs that are known to impact a specific channel. Additionally, The various herbs can affect the functions of the body with multiplicity. For instance, when a person has a hot type imbalance, the herbs recommended must be cool or cold, and if the person suffers from a cold type disease the herbs that should be taken are warm or hot. A hot type disease may be liver-heat or stomach-heat; a cold type disease may be lung-cold or spleen-cold conditions. Here is where a thoughtful practitioner shows their value. Herbs that can purge liver heat may not be able to rid stomach heat; herbs that can warm a cold spleen may not be able to warm cold lungs. Therefore, different herbs have been assessed for their multiple affect on the functions of different organs. The functions of the herbs and the 12 meridians can be interrelated and this is what is meant by the meridian attribution of herbs. Herb have been researched, observed for centuries and well documented for their specific influence on the channels. In particular, well trained master herbalists will know which channel and at what point along the channels, the herbs impact. Below are common Traditional Chinese herbs used by a herb master.

Common Traditional Chinese Herbs include the following:

American Ginseng

Chinese Scullcap

Licorice

Shiitake

Asian Ginseng

Corydalis

Ligustrum

Fo-ti

Astragalus

Dong Quai

Maitake

Chinese Ginger

Bitter Melon

Eleuthero

Reishi

Ginkgo biloba

Bupleurum

Green Teas

Schisandra

Longan fruit

Herb therapy when combined with compatible food therapy can be extremely valuable in aiding an ailing person towards normal balance. When you add exercises (Tai Chi & Qi Qong) that wake up the natural restorative energies of the body then the potential for optimal health is achievable.

MENOPAUSE IS NOT A HORMONE IMBALANCE!

Standard Medicine May Have IT ALL WRONG!

The position that the reason for all the menopause symptoms is due to an imbalance of hormones is a superficial perspective and deserves a deeper look. Menopause symptoms may include:

  • hot flashes
  • irregular periods
  • vaginal & urinary changes
  • sleep disturbances
  • feeling overwhelmed
  • weight gain
  • loss of desire
  • craving: sweet carbs, alcohol
  • minor to major depression
  • hair loss
  • ear ringing
  • headaches
  • bloating, nausea
  • worsening allergies
  • bone density loss
  • changes in breath & body odor
  • decreased fertility
  • night sweats
  • changes in appearance
  • fatigue
  • vaginal dryness
  • irritability
  • constipation/diarrhea
  • anxiety/palpitations
  • memory problems & fuzzy thinking
  • fibroids
  • aching joints
  • changes in menstruation
  • changes in sexual desire or function
  • mood swings
  • hair loss/thinning
  • Skin changes

Are these symptoms tied to deficiency of hormones? Could it be systemic? The whole body is may be suffering from top to bottom.

ANOTHER PROPOSAL – UNDERLYING CAUSE:

Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective: Menopause is considered a deficiency condition of the liver and qi (life force). When the blood and energy quality is weak and toxic then all of the organs are not able to perform their job. This condition causes the liver to overheat which rises through the body, wreaking havoc in its path. The heart, lungs, digestion, glands, throat, mouth & teeth, nose, eyes, ears, brain, skin and hair become heated and dried resulting in the symptoms, listed above. In addition, the liver does not filter the blood where it becomes sluggish and clotted.

Because the body is deficient of essential body energy and quality filtered blood, then the glands do not perform normally. Their secretions may be sporadic or non-releasing altogether. When the blood is filtered, normally, enriched then all the body’s organs improve. Gradually, the energy comes back and they are able to function normally. The glandular functions, secrete once again, assisting the body in its healthy function.

The body is not absent of hormones. The blood is clogged like sludge. Glands are not receiving/transmitting essential messages, timely and/or minimally!

Then why do we add or give more hormones. Doesn’t that risk an overload of hormones? Remember when you were a kid and your hormones were super revved. We don’t want to risk going through that again. We have enough hormones. If we nourish our blood, exercise, sleep, manage stress, etc. our hormones come back and supports increased balance.

So if Chinese medicine knows the problem, then what is their answer to this to this deficiency? Look below.

What Restores Normal Hormone Function?

Chinese Medicine Has Had An Answer for this for More Than a 1000 Years!

Traditional Chinese Medicine has 20+ formulas for menopause. But which one is the best? This requires a seasoned Master herbalist to respond to this. While most women fall into 6 major constitution types such as:

  • cold
  • damp
  • deficient
  • hot
  • dry
  • excess

Most menopausal women are a deficient constitution with hot characteristics and benefit 95% of the time from Menopause Comfort. I know that is a little confusing but more info follows. The exception is during the summertime.

Some women, who are more hot than the usual population, require a colder formula, Paramalin, to offset the excess internal heat produced in the liver.

“3000 Years of Chinese Herbal Medicine Provides the Best Menopause Formulation”

While not all women have to experience extreme characteristics of menopause, enough are disturbed that real relief is essential. The herbs, below, balance the hormones-progesterone & estrogen, cool nourish and stimulate the liver. This improves the blood which assists all the organs in the body which further lifts the body’s functioning. The herb selection centers and alleviates the conditions listed above.

These herbs work best for Menopause symptoms by reducing the typical heat signs stemming from the liver managing too much toxicity and/or excess food intake, etc.

Constant Ringing In The Ears – Treatment Secrets

Ringing in The Ears?

Are you afraid to go out with friends or family because you know all you will be ready to focus on is the constant ringing in the ear that you hear? Do you wish you could be freed from this and could go back to living an ordinary life? About 25% of all people have tinnitus or a sound of ringing or buzzing in their ear. Out of those people only about 25% of them ever try to get a way to treat it or cure it. These are some other stuff you have got to know about tinnitus.

First, when you begin to hear the ringing in the ear you may notice it as a little and very faint sound. If this is left untreated and just left to get get louder and louder. It will become so loud that it distracts you from almost everything and it’s going to be nearly impossible to drown out with anything else.
